태국이 50년 만의 홍수로 많은 피해를 입고 있다고 한다.

현재 피해자는 380명을 넘었고 이재민은 약 12만명 이라고 한다. 국토의 1/3이 홍수 피해가 발생했다고 한다.
전체농지의 1/4 정도가 홍수 피해를 입었다. 관광객의 수가 절반 이하로 줄었다.
태국 정부는 저지대의 주민들을 대피시키거나 물을 방출시키기 위해 수문을 개방하는 등 노력을 하고 있다.
이번 홍수로 태국의 경제는 크게 흔들리고 있으며, 세계 각국에서 지원을 해주고 있다.
